Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026. This is a plain-language summary of how JLE Gram handles your data, not a substitute for legal advice.

What we collect

Your email address and password (stored hashed, never in plain text), the display name and username on your profile, the messages you send, the channels and communities you create or join, and any media you upload to stories.

Why we collect it

Solely to operate the product: authenticate you, deliver your messages to the right people, and show your content back to you. We do not sell your data and we do not run advertising against it.

Who can see your content

Direct and group messages are readable only by members of that conversation. Channel posts are readable by anyone who can see the channel. Community topics are readable by anyone. Stories are readable while they are alive and expire after 24 hours. These rules are enforced at the database level.

Messages are not end-to-end encrypted, which means our infrastructure can technically access their contents. See the security page for the full picture.

Retention and deletion

Messages and posts are kept until you delete them. Stories are automatically removed 24 hours after upload. Deleting your account removes your profile, messages, channels and communities through cascading deletion.

Third parties

We use a managed cloud provider for database, authentication and file storage. They process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data at any time. Email hello@jlegram.app and we will respond within 30 days.
